The brothers of Timeless Truth escape the confines of Queens to the great outdoors but continue to be freshly dipped in their beloved Polo (with a hint of Carhartt) in their new video for "Cold Wave".
This track is taken from their newly released and much anticipated album of the same name. Expect features from the late great Sean Price, Your Old Droog, Ill Bill and production from DJ Skizz, Roc Marciano and Large Professor among others.
Skematics drops the second video from his EP "Somewhere In The Gray" which is released later this month. "Wrong Feels So Right" features vocals from Crestastarr.
You know, I've always found it funny how boring "artists" who make it to the mainstream think that they really hold any weight when it comes to actual talent. The fact that a bunch of kids who still play their tinny MP3s at the back of the bus support you says a lot. Throwaway.
It seems like I'm not the only one who thinks like that and I'm glad a certain "artist" is being called out on it too. Shotty Horroh via Link Up TV has just systematically dismantled your little sister's favourite rapper.
Dr. G provides the soundtrack to this verbal beating and you need to listen to it now.
It's been 15 years since the release of Masta Ace's classic album "Disposable Arts" but a few years ago in 2013 the album was re-issued by Below System Records out of The Netherlands. Packaged with the album was a making of the album documentary that was only recently put online and premiered by Ambrosia For Heads.
Stories behind the tracks are discussed with Ace himself along with a number of the producers and artists featured, including Stricklin, Wordsworth, Punch, Rah Digga, Domingo, Xplicit and DJ J-S1 to name a few. This is a really interesting watch if you're a fan of Masta Ace and what sparked his return to music after a six year break and the obstacles Ace and his team faced just to put the album out.
It's been a long five years since Elzhi's tribute to Nas with his "Elmatic" album. The wait is now over for a new project from El as he prepares to release "Lead Poison" at the end of March.
Here with have the first video from the set with "February" which we heard at the tail end of 2015. Over a dreamy but busy percussive track from 14KT, Elzhi talks about his fight with depression, the old days and the loss of his friend J Dilla. The visuals do a great job of tapping in to his mind regarding these subjects.
Doing wrong can often feel so right. Skematics explains this about the women in his life with his second single "Wrong Feels So Right". Featuring vocals from Crestastarr, this track will appear on the upcoming EP "Somewhere In The Gray".
A video for the song will be on deck shortly, so keep a look out for that too. This single is now available on iTunes or to stream below.
February. Dilla month. The month that James Dewitt Yancey was born and passed away. It's been ten years since music lost a pioneer, genius and friend. From his early work with his group Slum Village, his high profile hits with Janet Jackson and Q-Tip, through to his own "Donuts" album he created on his death bed, Jay Dee left a legacy that will be remembered.
Manchester will do their bit to remember him on February the 18th in The Whiskey Jar basement. Ten years after the original tribute night took place at Urbis in 2006, a number of DJs from that night will come back together to pay their respects. FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I decided to put a compilation of slow jams together. Featuring tracks from the likes of Keith Sweat, Silk, Mya, H-Town, Raphael Saadiq and many more. This is a collection of actual slow jams as opposed to a bunch of random R'n'B tracks. No shots. :)
Today marks the tenth anniversary of the passing of J Dilla.
Not much else can be said about the impact that he had on music, his family, friends and fans. A few years ago, as part of their Crate Diggers series, Fuse TV put together an episode looking at his personal collection of vinyl. In his absence, numerous close friends and collaborators talk about the man and his music.
Here we have the visuals to Washington Heights emcee Skematics' latest track, "4 Elements". The video features The Yardfather himself, Saigon, as well as one half of Blahzay Blahzay and frequent Sean Price collaborator, PF Cuttin, who produced the track.
The single is available on iTunes now but look for the upcoming EP from Skematics, "Somewhere In The Grey".
Danse of Brooklyn Stickup returns with a new video for his single "FUSMD". Accompanied by April Oneill on vocals, Danse delivers an homage to the underdog. Despite the no nonsense lyrics on the track, he shows a sense of hope and personal accomplishment with the guests in the visuals. #FUSMD
