Despite the relative success of his "Malibu" album, Anderson .Paak hasn't gone overboard with the visuals to accompany it. Here we have his second music video from the LP for "Come Down".
This Hi-Tek produced funk banger definitely delivers on the vision I had in my head, even if it's over before you know it. A great video for a personal standout from the album.
Check the video below and listen to "Malibu" in full if you haven't already.
After a massive turn out for Pete Rock & CL Smooth last month at Mantra Warehouse, More Bounce wastes no time in rolling out the red carpet for yet more Hip-Hop royalty. Slick Rick finally makes his return home for his first ever tour in the UK! The Ruler starts his 5 date run of shows here in Manchester.
Put Friday the 25th of November in your diaries and be sure to get your tickets when they drop this Friday (23rd September). Check the Facebook event page here for updates and more information.
September 13th 1996 was the day Tupac Shakur took his last breath in Las Vegas, six days after being shot multiple times in a still unsolved case. Today, in 2016, is the 20th anniversary of his passing and only seems like yesterday that it happened.
Tupac was genuinely one of my favourite artists growing up and it was a really sad day for me when he died. I never get involved in the debate of who was the greatest rapper to do it because ultimately it doesn't matter and it all comes down to opinion. He was much more than just a rapper. I prefer to call him an artist and activist.
He was often contradictory with what he put in his music but he was always memorable. That's why his music still resonates today. Other than music, he was a great actor with a number of movies under his belt including Above The Rim and Gridlock'd which are personal favourites of mine. And of course there is Juice, his debut in movies. That is a classic.
Anyway, just a few words from me to note the occasion. 20 years have passed by so fast and this is an unfortunate milestone to mark it with. I'll always be a fan.
After a busy summer on the festival circuit with The Mouse Outfit, Dr. Syntax returns with his partner in crime, Pete Cannon, with their new project "The Tonic EP". Their first single and video from the EP is "Downtime".
Synners walks the streets of Manchester pondering on the big wide world that's out there and how most of us are trapped in the system like caged animals. Everyone needs a break from the cycle!
Check the video below, shot and edited by Ellis Meade, and then be sure to cop the new EP which is available now over at Bandcamp. Also, the pair are on tour starting this month so be on the look out for a local date near you.
Apollo Brown and Skyzoo release another single from their upcoming project "The Easy Truth". This time bringing in Joell Ortiz to add a guest verse, both Skyzoo and Joell comment on their memories of the struggle coming up with "A Couple Dollars". Apollo Brown provides a poignant and string laden track which is really quite superb.
Check the track below. Look for "The Easy Truth" September 29th.
In less than a week More Bounce, once again, welcome Hip Hop royalty to Manchester. This time we see Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth make their first appearance together in what is bound to be a memorable and landmark performance for the city.

After seeing an official release of one of the biggest tunes of the year with "Still Standing" on First Word Records, Children Of Zeus return with the remix. Not content with the praise they already received in soul and Hip Hop circles, this remix opens them up to a whole new market.
Liquid producer Lenzman takes the reins on this with an added verse from the mighty DRS to take this beautiful re-imagining over the edge. All this comes complete with a second video for the track which you can check out below.
This track will live on Lenzman's upcoming "All For You" EP which is due for release on the 23rd of September. Pre-orders get you this track instantly via The North Quarter. Alternatively, head to iTunes for the digital release.
Be on the look out for more new music from Children Of Zeus soon with some very special collaborators.
Rick Ross and The Joker in the video for Purple Lamborghini
The build up to the release of DC's next movie in the extended cinematic universe has been one of the most rampant campaigns we've seen for a long time. Suicide Squad has had numerous trailers, TV spots and extended character profiles since the teaser of the film a year ago at San Diego Comic Con.
Another route Warner Bros has taken, which is often neglected these days, is the accompanying musical soundtrack. Made up of a majority of new music and a few covers, there have already been four music videos released. Two of these dropped in the same week in June, the third on the day the movie hit cinemas and the fourth a few days later.
The videos so far are from twenty one pilots with "Heathens", Ty Dolla $ign, Logic, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons and X Ambassadors with "Sucker For Pain", Skrillex and Rick Ross with "Purple Lamborghini" and Kehlani with "Gangsta".
All the tracks feature in the actual movie and for the most part fit extremely well, showing that some thought was put in to the compilation. Jared Leto even reprises his take on The Joker in the video for "Purple Lamborghini". Watch all four videos below. We may even see more. Who knows?
A couple of months after the release of his crossover hit "Devastated", Joey Bada$$' team release a video montage of his live performances of the track. From the thoughts of never making it to where his success has taken him now, it's fair to say that this is a feel good song if there ever was one. It's a little different from his previous boom bap efforts but is still a great track.
Check the video below and make sure you get your copy of the song on iTunes. I've also added his live appearance on SKEE TV from a few weeks back.
*UNFORTUNATELY THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES*

Definitely not one to miss. Tickets are available via Skiddle . Also, check the Facebook event page for any updates or announcements.
A few months after the release of his single "Back Up Off Me" with Xzibit, Bishop Lamont drops the video to the track.
Bishop Lamont has dropped a number of single releases so far this year but it also promises to be the year that his highly anticipated album "The Reformation" arrives. It's been a LONG wait.

Following the release of her debut single "1st" produced by DJ Premier, Torii Wolf returns with verses from both Rakaa and Evidence of Dilated Peoples. Originally the single features vocals from the two cut up by Preemo for the song's chorus.
To accompany this remix is a new video featuring Dilated Peoples and a brief introduction to how the remix came about.
You can expect Torii's full album to be released soon produced exclusively by DJ Premier. The single and this remix are both available on iTunes. Watch the video beneath.
Following the release of his much anticipated new solo album, "The Falling Season", Masta Ace delivers the first visuals for his single "Y.B.I. (Young Black Intelligent)".
Over production from the album's sole producer, KIC Beats, Ace is assisted by Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Pav Bundy on vocals. The track is closed out with spoken word from Public Enemy's Chuck D.
"The Falling Season" is available now and you can watch the new video below.
Relocating to Thailand late last year has by no means stopped the musical output from Chalk of The Natural Curriculum. Definitely not, as the new solo album "Growth" has arrived. The first single to be lifted from the project and given a video is "An Ode To The KP".
The track is a dedication to kitchen porters and minimum wagers who are living cheap and doing what they need to do to keep money in their pocket. I'm sure we can all relate!
Check the video below and go to Bandcamp for the album.
After what seems like years of dropping free music on Soundcloud, Konny Kon and Tyler Daley aka Children Of Zeus finally release the visuals to their first single on First Word Records. "Still Standing" is on one side of the recently released vinyl.
Manchester soul and Hip Hop at its best that should definitely be supported. You can get yourself a copy of the vinyl including "Still Standing" and "No Strings Attached" through First Word Records now.
