If you were unaware, The LOX released an new EP named "The Trinity" earlier this week without announcement. Seeing the success Beyonce had last week with her surprise album, Jadakiss, Skeek Louch and Styles P decided to drop some new music themselves.
The trio recently talked to Cipha Sounds and Ebro at Hot97 about the new EP, upcoming projects and who's to blame for the state of radio in NYC.
The EP is available on iTunes.
During a recent visit to Paris, Madlib was invited to have a look through the record collection of Radio France. While listening to a few records he picked out, he talked with Laura Leishman about some of his influences and the vinyl he chose from the archive.
On Christmas day, Fabolous dropped the third installment of his "S.O.U.L. Tape" series. Fuse TV's Esteban Serrano caught up with Fab to talk about the new mixtape and break down a few of the tracks on the latest episode of "The Mixdown".

Given the title of the track, there was only going to be one theme for the video, wasn't there? Here we see Rapsody in her new video for "Dark Knights" dressed as the Batman's infamous nemesis.
The beat is produced by E. Smith and the track is featured on Rapsody's "She Got Game" mixtape. Search this blog to get that.

Earlier today Havoc and Prodigy of Mobb appeared on HuffPost Live to announce they have a new album on the way. After a pretty rocky year for the two, it seems they've put their differences to one side to concentrate on what will be the 20th anniversary of "The Infamous...". Along with the new album there will also be a worldwide tour.
Check the interview below to find out more details for the new project. Also, check the full interview over at Complex.

Sugar Tongue Slim drops a video for his track "White". A fairy tale where he's looking for 'the fairest of them all'. The video stars the superb vocalist Nikki Jean. She doesn't sing unfortunately but that doesn't really matter when you see her. ;)

Something a little different visually from Kool Keith protege Metropolis Known but familiar musically with production from Erick Sermon. Check the new video for "Metrolentless Remix 2013" and support the lion!
First of all, shouts to Verb T and Dr. Syntax for making me aware of this project. I saw them both link to this new video from Polish producer Blossom and I'm happy they did. This is likely to have passed me by.
The track "Dusk" features UK legend Jehst on a very clouded and broken down beat that adds an ethereal element to his poignant lyrics as the song progresses.
Check out the great video below. The track is included on the album "The Longest Journey" which is available physically through HHV.de and digitally on Bandcamp or iTunes.

Well, it's not the project a lot of people were hoping for, but rather a collection of classic tracks that Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes have appeared on together, sprinkled with a couple of new sounds. It's a nice little reminder and retrospective to throw on the MP3 player though. And, it's free. Who complains about free stuff?
Stream and download available below.

With the help of his trusty MPC, Exile rips apart, reconstructs and totally flips Jay Z and Justin Timberlake's "Holy Grail" collaboration. As usual, he absolutely smashes it. He also incorporates a few other Jigga tracks. Hopefully the big homie sees/hears this.

Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some but not for the guys at Juicy who will be celebrating their 4th birthday down at Gorilla. After four years of sold out Wednesdays, monthly Friday events, extending their nights to London and Liverpool, hosting some big names in Hip Hop and being part of festivals up and down the country, Juicy goes in to its fourth year busier than ever.
If last year's party was anything to go by, this will be a roadblock!
Get your advance tickets for this as it will likely sell out. Tickets available on Skiddle.
Last night Kobe Bryant made his return to the NBA after a long road to recovery following an injured achilles. In honour of Jay Z turning 44 a couple of days ago, Brooklyn's Skyzoo has put together a collaboration EP with Philadelphia composer Antman Wonder. The two have created "An Ode To Reasonable Doubt".
"Skyzoo & Antman Wonder present the collabo EP "An Ode To Reasonable Doubt". Released via First Generation Rich Inc., in conjunction with Loyalty Digital Corp. In light of Jay-Z's 44th birthday, we present the orchestral remake of Jay's finest moment. The 9 song EP shows Philly composer Antman Wonder recreating the original beats with live string sections, horns, etc, while lyrically its written from the perspective of Sky placing himself in the emotions that Jay displayed on the original, but from his point of view, as opposed to reinterpreting Jay's life. Covert art by MB Bowens and Courtney Jefferson."
Check below for the Bandcamp stream/download options and also watch the video for "Meeting The Presidents".

Despite having a roster of legends on his latest album, Marco Polo decided to give his next video to the track "R U Gonna Eat That?" featuring The Doppelgangaz. Dopp x Marco = dope.
Now here's an episode of "Rhythm Roulette" I was hoping was on the way. This installment sees Captain Back$lap aka Swagmaster Bacon aka J-Zone working his magic on some random records. Take a look at what he comes up with.

Jay Z turns 44 years old today so just thought I'd post some of his classic videos that don't get the shine that they deserve. I took a couple of tracks from his underrated album "In My Lifetime Vol.1". Give that another listen.
The A$AP Mob certainly have their moments and this is one of them. While Rocky and Ferg have both enjoyed solo success and recognition, it's the turn of A$AP Nast to get a little shine. He steps out on the track "Trillmatic" which is from the collective's upcoming, as yet, untitled album.
This video took me back to the Yo! MTV Rap days and having Method Man adding a verse made it seem even more official. Looking forward to hearing more from the Mob.

Not giving much away other than a list of people to expect appearances by, the opening credits serve as sign that the film is well on its way.

I've also included some clips and teaser interviews with Breeze Brewin, Homeboy Sandman, Soul Khan, Donwill and even J-Zone's father, to whet your appetite.
Busta Rhymes' hit making ability is undeniable. He's been doing it for twenty years now. From his early days with Leaders Of The New School and solo debut with "Woo Hah! Got You All In Check" to his recent hit "Thank You" alongside Q-Tip, Bus a Bus has classics.
The one that sent him astronomically is the classic cut "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See". And who could forget the amazing Coming To America themed video? Complex's latest installment of Magnum Opus explores the making of this groundbreaking record with input from the song's producer Shamello, along with other comments from Talib Kweli, Jarobi, Elektra Records A&R Dante Ross and a host of others.
Watch the short feature on it below. Also, check the classic video too.
